DYSPHAGIA

It consists of difficulty in swallowing. Dysphagia can be caused by neurological and inflammatory diseases and by tumors of the oral cavity, pharynx, larynx and esophagus. Patients with dysphagia need to be treated to avoid the possibility of dehydration and malnutrition. There are occasions when associated lung infections may occur, resulting from choking and aspiration of food.
