About the Unit

In 2020, Casa de Saúde São José (CSSJ), which is part of the Santa Catarina Network, and Grupo Oncoclínicas, the largest group specialized in cancer treatment in Latin America, announce a partnership to expand care for cancer patients in the city. The initiative offers an exclusive line of integrated cancer care, with a fast and safe flow from suspected diagnosis to surgery and chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatments.

With almost 100 years of history, Casa de Saúde São José (CSSJ) is part of Associação Congregação Santa Catarina, a philanthropic institution that impacts the productive value chain in the country and operates in the areas of health, education and social assistance.

It was established in Humaitá, in the South Zone of Rio de Janeiro, as a hospital of excellence, with more than 30 specialties, always striving for welcoming and humanized care for its patients.

About 4800 doctors are registered at the hospital. All assistance to patients and their companions is carried out by a team of 1,700 employees, with a highly qualified medical staff and a differentiated assistance structure – with nurses, pharmacists, physiotherapists, speech therapists, psychologists and dentists.

The Surgical Center receives several highly complex procedures, with a Hybrid Room with the best equipment on the market.

Each year, the hospital has approximately 13,000 admissions and 12,000 surgeries in the most diverse specialties. The institution has 209 beds – 50 of which are in Intensive Care Units. The 24-hour Emergency Service offers General Practice, Cardiology, Orthopedics, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Gynecology, Otorhinolaryngology, Onco-hematology, General Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Cardiac Surgery, Thoracic and Head and Neck Surgery.

The institution also has a modern Diagnostic Imaging Center, integrated with Nuclear Medicine. Among the most recent technological investments are another MRI, in addition to PET-CT and Scintigraphy and Densitometry equipment.
