Founded in 1993 as Clínica Skaletsky, the unit became part of the Oncoclínicas Group in 2014, being renamed Oncoclínica Rio Grande do Sul. There are currently four units in the state, three in Porto Alegre and one in the city of Canoas. It stands out as a reference in the multidisciplinary care of cancer patients by bringing together more than 100 specialist doctors and a complete structure for diagnosis and treatment. It has a partnership with Hospital São Lucas da PUC, being in charge of its Oncology Center, where one of the most modern radiotherapy units in Brazil is located.
The Oncoclínicas service hall includes medical consultations, outpatient treatments, such as chemotherapy and immunotherapy, genetic counseling, radiotherapy, hospitalization monitoring, among others. It also has a multidisciplinary team of professionals, such as psychologists and nutritionists, which provides comprehensive care to the patient. It also has specialized centers for the different demands of oncology, in addition to partnerships with international academic and scientific entities to carry out research in the area.
Its level of excellence in service and operation is another highlight of the brand in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. In 2021, the Moinhos de Vento Unit in Porto Alegre confirmed the recertification by the Joint Commission International (JCI) in the Outpatient Assistance Program. The achievement recognizes the institution’s ongoing commitment to international standards of reference in safety and quality of care.
